A tiny Hylian Shield charm I made out of Super Sculpty Polymer Clay since my previous Metroid charm proved to have terrible durability and shed coating and pieces left and right.

Based this version off the one seen in Skyward Sword; it was pretty tough making it so small, so I added in all the fine details (minus the Triforce) with paint instead of molding them on.

Sculpty Gloss glaze is a saint when it comes to coating these things; I learned my lesson with the Metroid that regular 'ol varnish doesn't do sh*t.


Recently got a massive batch of phone straps and keychain pieces, so I'll likely be making alot more stuff like this in the coming months. Commissions for charms 'n stuff is selectively open; message me with a request and we can discuss it. ;)

Where do you get the little thing that goes on top? Where the strap connects to? I have a bunch of straps that I bought and when I make things out of Clay I can't connect it because I haven't been able to find those screw things that go on it!

Ah, I had that same problem before! I was looking all over ebay and I kept finding the straps without the screws! Eventually I went to Google and typed "phone charm screws" and finally found a site called Fun With Artz that sells them. It can be a bit tough to find, but look around and you'll get some! :D

yeah im completely jealous of you for making this fantastic piece!
but i am curious is there something different about the shields in all the games? i dunno i was reading the comment below and it said skyward sword so yeah... just curiosity... and longing... I NEED THAT SHEILD BUT I SUCK AT BOSS BATTLES!

Haha I'm flattered! :) And all the shields are somewhat different from game to game...like in Ocarina of Time, the Hylian Shield had a yellow triangle below the royal family crest, and in Twilight Princess it was more solid, big, and gritty without the triangle. Skyward sword was a bit...wider than TP and had a few grooves on the top and sides. All in all minor differences but I'm a real sticker when it comes to details. ;)

oh ok... i honestly havent realized but that probably only because im playing twilight princess and thats the only shield like that i have seen properly... but wow you must have a good eye to see those minor details! normally im just blind as a bat when it comes to details... if it works then im not gonna complain, but if you touch any of my technology then i will cheerfully strangle you within an inch of you life if you manage to say sorry!
no but this shield is awesome and i would really love to have one but the iphones dont have place to put charm thingys on and i wouldnt want to ruin it... so i think its just safer if i gawk at it from the safety of my computer screen....XD
and thank you for telling me about the small differences in the games! i really start to appreciate the small differences now
