Compatability by xxLelouchxx67 Compatability by xxLelouchxx67
Made the Vaxus Shield specifically to be compatable with my 1/60 PG Gundams. Figured I would just give it to the Titans Mk. II for now, until I learn how to craft a sword without horribly bending the blade into a 90 degree angle while molding it.

It was actually an unbelievable nightmare to get the arm into the shield strap and have the hand securely hold the handle. I wanted to nick the strap at first, but since the hand has no strength and the finger joints are actually fairly weak, it couldn't hold up the shield at all. Therefore I had to throw together a makeshift strap that's almost too short and would occasionally pop off, prompting me to re-glue the damn thing...

Y'wanna talk "compatible shields?" I'm working on a custom piece for Glyos System toys that could work for other small scale figures! [link] Just gotta smooth out the Milliput, then send it off to a friend of mine to get it molded and cast!

That's some very detailed stuff that you placed in that shield, very nice! I can just imagine if you convert your MK-II to a Knight Gundam or something, that will be epic! :D

Thanks so much! I actually had the Knight Gundam in mind when I first started this...it's too bad Bandai never made an actual Plamo kit of the Knight Gundam... :(

Yeah, though I can see why they won't do such a design. That means it's up to guys like you to do it, keep it up! :D

That sheild looks awesome with 178! If he had a crown that matched the shield, it would be even cooler.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm actually planning on making a greatsword for it next, but it's a little known fact that I can't craft a blade without making it bend up or down as I craft it. ^^;

Hrm. Im assuming you would make it from metal? That would ROCK. :iconrockonplz:
I normally just scratchbuild from pla-plate, but the lines would be hard to keep if you are going to layer it and give it an edge. :iconsufferingplz:

I've never worked with metal or pla-plates before; just clay. ^^;

I've tried before, and it's usually the part where you actually have to make the sword have two edges, instead of a flat one since I mold it on a flat surface. It's never worked out very well. :faint:

Oh, okay! Well plaplate isnt too bad. For my blade liger, i layered 5 sheets of plaplate, the main 3 where for the blade. The middle one was just a tad longer and wider, while the outside ones where a bit shorter in length and width. I glued them all together, and filled in the seams with modeling putty. After some sanding, it turned out alright!

If you have some time, i would recommend it. It looked great after i airbrushed the blades gold!

Here is a picture of the model with the pla-plate blades. [link]
And here is where i got the pla-plate! [link]

Wow that looks great!

I've always wanted to give pla-plating a try, I just never really knew where to get them. Thanks so much for the link! :D It looks great for scratch-building custom pieces. =P

Thanks!! :)
As for plaplating, Its really not hard. Scissors cut it well, but i recommend an exacto knife for a cleaner edge. Its cheap stuff(And you get a pretty decent amount of it too!) so i would say its worth a shot. If you decide to try it, good luck!
